Ineight-year-old William Adams made his first visit to the Southwest and the Puebloan ruins of Frijoles Canyon-better known as Bandelier National Monument. Amidst the red rock canyons and mesas his lifelong passion for the Southwest was born. Located in Northern New Mexico, Frijoles Canyon was once the home of the mysterious Anasazi or “Ancient Ones”.

These agrarian people arrived in this fertile area aroundand departed some years later when they presumably depleted their natural resources. We are just getting started with the Frijoles Canyon working group, our first working group for the East Jemez Landscape Futures.
